Acquaintance with the sights of Mexico City and a fascinating journey through the southern states of Tabasco, Chiapas, Campeche and Yucatan, which ends in Cancun or in the resort area of the Riviera Maya.
Includes visits to cultural, historical and architectural monuments, the most famous archaeological sites associated with the history of the Teotihuacan, Aztecs and Mayans, as well as acquaintance with the picturesque nature of the Yucatan Peninsula: Mexico City – Teotihuacan – Palenque – Campeche – Uxmal – Merida – Chichen Itza – Cenote Ik-Il.
Day 1. Mexico City
Meeting at the Airport (MEX). Transfer and accommodation at the hotel 4 * (“Casa Blanca” or similar). Free evening for rest.
Day 2. Mexico City – Teotihuacan – Anthropology Museum (140 km).
Our acquaintance with Mexico will begin with a tour of the historical center of one of the largest and most diverse capitals of the world – the city of Mexico City, around the central square of Sokalo there are monuments of history and architecture associated with the most important stages of the city development: the ruins of the ancient Aztec city Tenochtitlan and the foundation of their main The cathedral, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Presidential Palace with frescoes by Diego Rivera (provided that the Palace will be open to visitors and the entrance to it will not be restricted due to force majeure Such as: national holidays, rallies that take place on Sokalo Square, etc.). After visiting Sokalo we will go to the archeological zone of Teotihuacan, the cult center of ancient Indians, striking with the grandeur of such structures as the pyramids of the Sun and Moon, the road of the dead, the temple of Quetzalcoatl and the palace of Quetzalpapalotl. Then we visit the world-famous National Museum of Anthropology Mexico City, where the exhibits multicultural pre-Hispanic period of Mexico’s history. In the evening – return to the hotel.

Day 3. Mexico City – Villahermosa (750 km) – Palenque (145 km).
In the morning, after breakfast, we leave for the airport for flight to the capital of the state of Tabasco – the city of Villahermosa. A transfer from Villahermosa airport takes the group to a 4 * hotel (“Ciudad Real Palenque” or similar) in Palenque. After accommodation we are waiting for free time for rest.
Day 4. Palenque (10 km) – Stop on the Gulf of Mexico – Campeche (365 km).
In the morning we will make an excursion to the UNESCO-protected Palenque archaeological zone and visit the remains of the most beautiful city located on the picturesque hills of the heyday of the Mayan culture. Here are preserved buildings that are monuments of ancient art: the tombs, the Temple of the Sun and the Temple of the Cross, the Temple of inscriptions with the tomb of the great King Pakal, the Palace and other structures that, surrounded by lush subtropical vegetation, look particularly majestic and mysterious. After that, leaving behind the mountains of Chiapas, we will go to the Yucatan peninsula to the port city of Campeche. On the way, we can admire the stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico. There is a stop for lunch and for a dip in this bay. In the evening, take a walk along the picturesque colonial streets of Campeche and see the surviving ancient fortifications built to protect the city from pirates, where many historical films and serials were filmed. Accommodation at the hotel 4 * (“Plaza Campeche” or similar).
Day 5. Campeche – Uxmal (160 km) – Merida (85 km).
In the morning, after leaving Campeche, we will go to Uxmal, a Mayan settlement of the late Classical period, and one of the most complex and harmonious examples of the architecture of the spider style, still continuing to delight visitors with its beauty and eccentricity. After getting acquainted with this archeological complex, we will continue our journey to Merida, a city founded by the Spanish conquistador Francisco de Montejo in 1542 on the ruins of a large Mayan settlement and turned into the largest city of the Yucatán Peninsula. Here we will have a sightseeing tour. Of particular interest to tourists are Independence Square and the monumental avenue of Paseo del Montejo, where luxury residences in European style, built in the late XIX – early XX centuries. Accommodation at the hotel 4 * (“El Español” or similar). In the evening – free time for walking, shopping and recreation.
Day 6. Merida – Chichen Itza (130 km) – Cenote Ik-Il – Cancun / Riviera Maya (220-280 km).
In the morning we leave Merida and head for Chichen Itzu. We will enter the archaeological zone through the unique Mayalland complex, where we will visit the Planetarium, in which we will get an interesting “lesson” in Maya cosmology in a fascinating way with the help of projecting. Further tour of Chichen Itza – the most important ceremonial center of Indian culture Maya-Toltec, included in the number of New Wonders of the World. Here are the famous pyramid of Kukulkan, the Observatory, the Holy Cenote (a natural well that served Indians for ceremonies dedicated to the god of the rain of Chaak) and the largest ball game ground in Mesoamerica. Further on the program we are waited by bathing in crystal-clear waters of Ik-Kiel – the most beautiful cenote of the Yucatan peninsula, and then the final part of our route – moving to the state of Quintana Roo – to Cancun or to the Riviera Maya – and accommodation in hotels according to preliminary reservation.
